How wonderful it was to ride the Red Spider!
It made a protecting bubble with a droplet of water to keep the children safe from itching plants and insects.

STORY
Riding The Red Spider is a story about a little girl who is afraid.
She will become a big sister soon and she is afraid she’s not ready.
And she is afraid of spiders.
But she will learn that our biggest fears can become our best friends if we manage to look at them from another point of view.
HOW THE STORY BEGINS…
Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Ana.
She lived in a forest with her parents, in a house next to a river. There were a lot of flowers, bees and other animals living around the house.
And lots of spiders too.
She loved living in the forest, exploring the pools in the river, looking at small animals with her magnify glass and collecting plants and flowers to make magic potions.
But she was afraid of the spiders.

BEHIND THE SCENES
In 2006 I made a watercolor painting for a little girl that had just become a big sister. That painting softly told me the story of the Red Spider.
