STORY
“We still have time” explores the physical, emotional and psychological boundaries of its performers through a journey that moves between fragility and strength. Through a contemporary circus proposal that combines acrobatics, balances and a deeply theatrical physical language, two bodies fight, support each other and transform themselves while also transforming the space they inhabit.
Two artists who, after years of searching for their own stage language, arrive on stage to perform a show. However, a conflict between them makes it impossible to move forward. One tries to sustain the function as it was conceived; the other needs to break it to find a freer and truer place. This tension turns the performance itself into the engine of the story.
What begins as a struggle to continue ends up being a story of friendship, resistance and transformation. As the show seems to collapse, both characters discover a new way of being together on stage, building a common language that is born precisely from what is broken.
The magic of the theater and the complicity of the audience gradually lead them towards an unexpected transformation. Actor and character begin to merge to give way to the clown and the jester, rescuing the essence of the circus in its purest, freest and most overflowing form.
“We still have time” talks about continuing to create when everything changes, accepting transformation as the only way to move forward, and friendship as the place to start again.

Cia Impulsos is a contemporary circus company founded in mid-2021 by director and actor Pau Portabella.
